Overgrown scrub and bramble on an unused Devon plot

MID & EAST DEVON

Site & Land Clearance in Devon

Overgrown ground brought back to something you can use — scrub, bramble, thorn and small trees cleared off, and everything taken away.

Back to usable ground

We clear neglected plots, paddock edges, yard corners, old gardens and the forgotten corners of land — bramble, bracken, gorse, thorn, saplings and the small trees that come in behind them. Depending on the ground, that's done by hand with a brush cutter and chainsaw, or with a mini digger where the cover is thick and the ground will carry the weight.

Arisings are chipped, gathered and removed, so what you're left with is clear, level ground ready for turf, planting, grazing or a fencing crew. If you'd like parts of the clearing left — a hedgerow, a stand of trees, a log pile for wildlife — tell us before we start and we'll work to that.

Not sure what your trees need? Send a few details and a photo and we'll tell you honestly.

Land clearance questions

What's included in a clearance?

Cutting the vegetation down, removing the arisings, and leaving the ground clear and level. Where you want stumps out, a boundary line defined, or the ground prepared for turf or fencing, we price that in at the quote stage so there's no surprise at the end.

Do you take everything away?

Yes — brushwood is chipped and loaded out, and bigger material is loaded and removed. If you'd like logs kept for burning or chip left as mulch on the site, say so and we'll leave it in a pile where you want it.

Can you clear wet or boggy ground?

Often yes, but by hand rather than with a machine, because a digger on soft ground does more damage than the clearing is worth. We'll assess the ground when we visit and tell you honestly what's realistic.

Do I need permission to clear land?

Sometimes. Trees on the site may be protected, and some grassland and habitat is itself protected or carries seasonal restrictions for nesting birds and breeding animals. We check before quoting and can tell you what to raise with the council.

How is clearance priced?

By the size and cover of the area, the access and what the ground's like — either a fixed price for a defined plot, or a day rate where the work is open-ended. Quotes are free and without obligation.
